Do guys know when they are making out aggressively?

My bf and I was sitting on a bench and he tongued kiss me unexpectedly with force. Like he was pulling me back while sitting down and I kept trying to hold my head up LOL so I had my eyes open and his was half open. Why you think he did it? First time he veer kissed me like that.
