Why does every console gamer deny FPS aim assist?

i think anyone with a brain should realize that consoles need aim assist. clearly all the quick scopers know it, and anyone who has ever aimed down sights should realize that they always lock on. but i guess some players play life me and stay scoped in for a while. then it takes a lot more skill cause the aim assisst is very slight
