AT&T over T-mobile ...opinions on the switch please?

I recently switched from a 140.00 5 phone plan with t-mobile an switched to At&t with 5 phones for about 165.00 a month.My thinking was coverage should be better with at&t,alotta dead spots with t-mobile and when they merge next year i figured i would get the shaft anyhow so i would save the aggravation and switch now.Think i made a mistake.Any advice on either network? thanks
