Is this wrongful termination?

I worked at McDonalds and I was told to go do a trash run. The bin that we use to transfer trash to the dumpster is a fair amount shorter than I am. It was really hot so I decided to give it a push. It veers off and smashes into another employees car, smashing the rear window. I talk it over with the employee and we agree on me helping him pay for it. The store owner apparently comes in and takes on the responsibility of the window and pays for it, and also fires me. Is that a legitimate excuse for firing me?
