Would you give up job in current climate?

Only if I had already accepted a better offer. In the current economic situation, even a bad job is better than no job. I'd keep looking for something better, but I'd hang in there until something comes along. I don't know what the law says in Great Britain, but here in the US we can't collect unemployment benefits if we quit.
